Account & data deletion

Delete your CircleSpot account.

You can wipe your account and all the data we hold about you at any time. Two paths: from inside the app (fastest), or by email if you no longer have the app installed.

1From inside the app (recommended)

Open the app and sign in

You must be signed in to the account you want to delete. If you have lost access to that phone number, use the email path in Section 2.

Go to Settings

Tap the gear icon in the bottom navigation bar (or the menu, depending on your circle mode).

Tap "Delete my account"

Scroll to the bottom of the Settings screen. You'll see a red "Delete my account" button.

Confirm

A confirmation dialog will appear. Tap "Delete" to confirm. The account and all data described below are removed immediately and the action is not reversible.

2By email (if you can't use the app)

If you have uninstalled the app, lost access to your phone number, or for any other reason can't use the in-app flow, send us an email and we will process the deletion manually.

What to include

  • Subject line: Account deletion request
  • The phone number on the account (in international format with the country code, e.g. +9647XXXXXXXXX)
  • The display name you used in the app, if you remember it (helps disambiguate)

What happens next

  • We reply to confirm we received the request, normally within 2 business days.
  • For verification, we will send a one-time code via WhatsApp or SMS to the phone number on the account. You reply with the code.
  • Once verified, the account and the data listed in Section 3 are deleted within 7 days of verification (typically within 24 hours).
  • We will send a final confirmation email when deletion is complete.

If you cannot receive the verification message (the phone number is no longer active), reply to our confirmation email and we will work with you to confirm your identity through another channel.

3What gets removed

The following are permanently deleted from our systems when you complete either path above:

  • Your profile and account credentials
  • All circles you own (other members of those circles are notified that the circle was deleted)
  • Your membership in any circles you joined as a member
  • Your entire location history
  • Your saved places
  • Push notification setup for your device
  • Your subscription record (Premium subscribers: see the note below)

What is kept (and for how long)

A limited subset of security log records may be retained briefly for fraud-prevention and security-investigation purposes, with your identifying user reference removed so the records cannot be used to re-identify you. If you would like these records purged sooner, mention it in your email and we will remove them within 30 days.

Premium subscription

Deleting your CircleSpot account stops future renewals (we revoke the subscription on our side), but it does not automatically cancel the Google Play subscription itself. To prevent the next billing cycle, also cancel the subscription in your Google Play account: play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. We do not issue pro-rated refunds for the unused portion of a billing period — that follows Google Play's refund policy.

4Where your data may still appear briefly

Some operational systems — push notification delivery, encrypted backups, and crash diagnostics — may briefly retain technical records related to your account before they are overwritten on their normal cycle. These records are not used for any new purpose after your deletion.
